Ajadi Declares PDP Landslide Victory Claim for Oyo 2027 Polls

Olufemi Ajadi predicts PDP dominance in Oyo 2027 elections while announcing his exit from the party ahead of his senatorial ambition

Prominent politician Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has projected a sweeping victory for the Peoples Democratic Party across all elective positions in Oyo State during the 2027 general elections, while also announcing his resignation from the party.

Ajadi made the declaration on Thursday, May 7, during an interaction with journalists, expressing confidence that the political structure led by Governor Seyi Makinde, popularly known as “Team Seyi Makinde,” would dominate the governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly contests.

“We will take all political positions in Oyo State without leaving any behind in 2027,” he stated.

He explained that consultations within the party had intensified, with key stakeholders engaging in strategic discussions aimed at strengthening internal unity and consolidating political advantage ahead of the polls.

According to him, a recent closed-door meeting involving party leaders and Governor Seyi Makinde focused on aligning aspirants and streamlining electoral ambitions across the state.

Ajadi disclosed that party leaders initially encouraged him to contest for the Oyo Central Senatorial seat, citing his grassroots influence and political experience as key strengths for national representation.

He said the decision was based on a belief that his focus on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and development initiatives would be more impactful at the federal legislative level.

However, in a dramatic development, Ajadi announced that he has stepped away from the party and will pursue his senatorial ambition under a different political platform.

“I have moved on politically, and consultations are ongoing with leaders and supporters,” he said.

Despite his exit, he maintained that his political mission remains centred on development-driven governance, economic empowerment, and youth inclusion.

Party insiders reportedly noted earlier efforts to balance interests among aspirants across senatorial districts, including Oyo Central, Oyo South, and Oyo North, as part of a broader consensus-building strategy.

Ajadi also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as significant developmental strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic reforms across the state.
