Sam Amadi says the ADC internal crisis is self-inflicted, blaming unresolved issues like zoning and primaries for the party’s weakening structure.

His remarks followed the defection of Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwaso from the ADC to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), a move that has further intensified debate over the party’s stability.
Amadi said the ADC failed to properly address foundational political questions such as zoning arrangements, consensus-building, and the mode of primary elections.
According to him, these unresolved issues have contributed significantly to internal disagreements and weakened party cohesion at a critical time.
He argued that the party’s inability to establish clear internal structures has left it vulnerable to political setbacks and defections.
“The ADC crisis is self-inflicted. Lack of clarity on foundational issues is the bane,” he said.
Political observers note that the developments highlight broader challenges facing opposition parties as they reposition ahead of future elections.
