Jandor withdraws from Lagos APC governorship race ahead of 2027 elections, citing alignment with party leadership decisions

Jandor made the announcement while addressing journalists, party leaders of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, and supporters at Liberty House, Adeniyi Jones Secretariat in Ikeja.

He explained that his decision followed recent political developments within the party shortly after he purchased his nomination forms.

According to him, a high-level meeting involving President Bola Tinubu and the Deputy Governor of Lagos State influenced the direction of the race.

He stated that he had previously committed to aligning with the political direction of the President, which ultimately informed his withdrawal.

Jandor noted that the emergence of an endorsement for Dr Obafemi Hamzat shaped the political landscape shortly after he entered the contest.

The aspirant said his decision was guided by loyalty to party leadership and the need to maintain unity within the APC structure in Lagos State.
