The clarification was issued by the Special Adviser on Political Matters and Special Duties, Josiah Sabo Kente, who stated that the Taraba automatic ticket rumours were completely unfounded and not reflective of the governor’s position.
Kente explained that Governor Agbu Kefas remains committed to internal party democracy, fairness and equal opportunity for all aspirants within the political process.
He stressed that at no time did the governor make any promise of automatic tickets to individuals or groups, noting that the administration continues to uphold transparency in all political engagements.
The statement also referenced the position of the Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, whose chairman, Abubakar Bawa, reiterated that the party has no provision for automatic tickets and remains committed to a credible selection process.
According to the government, the false reports had created unnecessary tension among aspirants and party members, making it important to issue an official clarification to restore calm.
Stakeholders were urged to disregard the rumours and avoid spreading unverified information capable of undermining party unity and democratic order in the state.
Reaffirming its position, the government said Governor Agbu Kefas remains focused on governance while supporting lawful and democratic processes as preparations for elections continue.
