APC supporters stage Tinubu rally Ondo in Akure led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, mobilising grassroots support ahead of 2027 elections
All Progressives Congress, APC, supporters in Ondo State on Wednesday staged a solidarity walk in Akure, led by Governor Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, as part of a coordinated Tinubu rally Ondo initiative.

The programme, tagged “TinubuDatiwa Half a Million Walk 2027”, was organised by Kehinde Akinrotoye, former Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Sports and Coordinator of the TinubuDatiwa Support Group.
The event took place at the Ondo State Sports Complex and attracted a large turnout of party faithful and stakeholders.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa commended participants for their enthusiasm, describing the exercise as a commendable and encouraging demonstration of political support.
He noted that the initiative reflects ongoing efforts by various support groups to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the state.
He explained that the walk forms part of a broader series of activities being organised in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
According to him, such initiatives are aimed at consolidating support for President Bola Tinubu and reinforcing the party’s presence at the local level.
Aiyedatiwa, who described himself as a foremost patron of support groups in the state, said his participation underscored his commitment to the cause and solidarity with organisers.
He expressed satisfaction with the turnout, which included government officials, civil servants, artisans and members of civil society.
The governor further expressed confidence that sustained mobilisation efforts would yield significant electoral support in the state.
He urged coordinators to intensify their outreach at the grassroots level, emphasising that effective political engagement must be driven from the wards and local communities.
He also highlighted the health benefits of the exercise, noting that participants turned out early in the day, demonstrating a blend of political engagement and commitment to physical well-being.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Henry Omoyofunmi, described the turnout as evidence of growing support for the Renewed Hope agenda.
He said the programme reflects the strategic efforts being made within the state to strengthen mobilisation ahead of the next election cycle.
Kehinde Akinrotoye, the programme coordinator, explained that the walk was designed to galvanise support across Ondo State’s senatorial districts and local government areas.
