The council is expected to serve as an advisory body to guide decision-making and provide strategic direction for the party within the state.

Speaking at the event, Senator Emmanuel Yisa Orker-Jev, a senior party leader in Benue, commended the state leadership for its commitment and organisational efforts.

He urged members to remain focused and consistent in their activities as the party continues to build its presence.

Senator Orker-Jev described the ADC as a growing political force, asserting that it has emerged as a leading minority party not only in Benue but across Nigeria.

He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, stating that it is well positioned to compete effectively in forthcoming elections.

He also made remarks about the political landscape in the state, claiming that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is divided into factions.

According to him, movements between such factions are often misrepresented as party defections, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, he alleged, aligns with one of those blocs.

The senator further characterised the ADC as a stable and unified platform, describing it as free from internal divisions.
