NNPP internal litigations are caused by Kwankwaso’s actions, not APC or President Tinubu, says NNPP National Secretary Ogini Olaposi
Ogini Olaposi has stated that ongoing court cases and defections within the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, are the result of former presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso attempting to seize control of the party, dismissing claims that President Bola Tinubu and the All-Progressives Congress, APC, are involved.
The statement, issued on Tuesday in Lagos, responded to allegations made by Elder Buba Galadima that litigation against the party was sponsored externally to destabilise it.

Olaposi described the claims as “lazy, empty blackmail,” asserting that Kwankwaso and his expelled faction are responsible for pursuing court cases and causing defections among members.
“All elected members of the NNPP in 2023, who decamped due to the ongoing litigations, are encouraged to return and help rebuild our great party,” Olaposi said, adding that the 2025 national convention in Lagos resolved that loyalty would be rewarded with automatic tickets for future elections.
Olaposi further explained that the party has initiated e-registration of members in line with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines for the 2027 general elections, emphasising the strengthening of the party’s internal structure for electoral success.

“NNPP is a sister political party to all registered parties in Nigeria and remains committed to being a responsible partner for the nation’s progress. Our mission is not about fighting others for politics or power, which belongs to God, but to serve the people of Nigeria,” the statement concluded.
