In a statement on Tuesday, the Coordinator of NANS Zone E (North-East), Muazu Hina, expressed sympathy with the government and people of Borno, especially families who lost loved ones.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the recent suicide bomb attacks that rocked Maiduguri. This is a tragic and senseless act of violence against innocent citizens,” Hina said.
NANS stands in solidarity with victims, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The association urged security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We call on security agencies to identify the perpetrators and their sponsors and ensure they are brought to justice without delay,” Hina added.
The student body also called for stronger intelligence and increased security presence in vulnerable areas to prevent future attacks.
Hina emphasized the need for the Federal Government to intensify efforts to address insecurity in the North-East and ensure students’ safety.
The attacks occurred almost simultaneously at Maiduguri Monday Market, the Post Office, and near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, leaving at least 23 dead and over 100 injured.
