Adams Oshiomhole is a prominent Nigerian politician and former labour leader. Born on April 4, 1952, he rose to national prominence as the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) from 1999 to 2007, where he led significant protests against government policies, earning him a reputation as a fierce advocate for workers’ rights.
He transitioned into partisan politics, serving as the Governor of Edo State from 2008 to 2016, where his administration focused on infrastructure development, education, and urban renewal.
After his governorship, Oshiomhole became the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from 2018 to 2020, playing a crucial role in the party’s affairs.
He currently serves as the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District since 2023.
