Kebbi APC Holds State Congress, Elects Abubakar Kana-Zuru as Chairman

Kebbi APC holds peaceful congress, elects Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru as chairman with 29-member executive

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has successfully conducted its state congress at FIFA Stadium Goru in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, culminating in the election of a new set of state officials.

Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru was elected State Chairman, leading a 29-member State Executive Committee.

Delegates from all 21 local government areas participated in the congress, which was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and concluded without any reports of violence or disruption.

Governor Nasir Idris, who attended the exercise, commended the peaceful conduct from ward to state levels and urged party members to continue supporting the newly elected officials while maintaining unity ahead of upcoming elections.

Officials from the APC national headquarters and local congress committees described the exercise as orderly, transparent, and reflective of effective coordination among party stakeholders.

Former Governor and current Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, also attended the congress, noting that the smooth conduct demonstrated strong collaboration among party leaders and delegates.

The successful completion of the Kebbi APC state congress ensures continuity in leadership and strengthens the party’s organization ahead of the 2027 elections.
