APC Chair Yilwatda Urges Strong Women Political Inclusion

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on Tuesday, June 3, 2026, called for stronger APC women political inclusion Yilwatda style reforms, urging increased participation of women in politics across Nigeria.

Professor Nentawe Yilwatda made the call when he received the APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile Idele, at the party’s national secretariat, where he emphasised the need for gender balance in leadership and governance.

The APC chairman stated that women possess equal mental capacity and capability as men, stressing that political structures must reflect fairness and inclusivity in practice, not just in principle.

“Being a woman does not make you less than a man. You have equal brain, equal capacity, equal ability,” he said.

He further encouraged more women to take active roles in politics, noting that meaningful empowerment remains essential for strengthening democratic participation and national development.

Yilwatda reiterated that the APC remains committed to widening space for women within its leadership structure, describing inclusion as a key pillar of internal party growth.

“We encourage women to come out and participate in politics actively. We must empower you,” he said.

The party chairman also assured female members of his support, pledging to stand behind efforts aimed at increasing women’s representation in governance and decision-making processes.

His remarks come amid renewed calls within Nigeria’s political space for improved gender representation in elective and appointive positions.
