The congress followed ward and local government exercises conducted earlier in line with the timetable issued by the party’s national headquarters.
Chairman of the APC State Congress Committee, Shehu Ma’azu, confirmed that all positions were contested by single candidates and that the exercise was conducted peacefully.
Ahmad Garba was elected alongside 35 other executives, including Nasiru Jahun as Deputy Chairman and Uzairu Maigatari as State Secretary.
Speaking at the event, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi commended party members for their discipline and unity, attributing the peaceful congress to their commitment.
“The peaceful conduct of the congress is a reflection of the party’s strength and unity. Now, the party is intact, and members are hopeful for a successful future,” he said.
Governor Namadi urged the new leadership to prioritise inclusiveness, grassroots mobilisation, and stakeholder engagement in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
In his acceptance speech, Ahmad Garba pledged to foster unity within the party and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to strengthen party structures across Jigawa State.
“We will ensure inclusiveness and unity within the party,” he said, expressing optimism about APC’s prospects in the state.
