APC Labels ADC Leaders ‘Jesters’ Over Edo Shooting Claim

APC responds ADC Edo shooting claims, calling allegations baseless and urging police to investigate all parties involved in the incident

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) linking it to a reported shooting involving ADC members in Edo State, describing the opposition party’s leaders as “jesters.”

APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said in a press statement on Wednesday that the ADC acted prematurely by assigning blame without awaiting investigation from law enforcement agencies.

“The ADC statement of February 25 was made before any probe was conducted. It acted as both accuser and judge,” Mr Morka said, rejecting claims of alleged terrorism or violent acts attributed to the ruling party.

The APC called on the police and other security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident, including examining ADC members and leaders in connection with reported clashes among factions within the opposition party over control and access to meetings.

The party reiterated that it had no involvement in the shooting and remains focused on its performance in recent elections in the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, and Kano states.
