Senate Deputy President Barau Jibrin donates N100m to Kano’s Singer Market fire victims, pledges modern fire-control facilities to prevent future incidents
Following a devastating fire at Singer Market in Kano, Barau Jibrin donated N100 million to affected traders.

The fire destroyed goods and property worth billions of naira, significantly impacting the livelihood of Kano merchants.
Barau visited the market on Sunday, received by the chairman of the Singer Market Development Association, Alhaji Junaidu Zakari, The donation aims to cushion the economic impact of the fire and support affected traders.
Barau pledged to help provide modern fire-control facilities to prevent future incidents,The market has experienced two major fires recently, with losses estimated at over N5 billion.
The visit included the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Kano State lawmakers, and other aides.

Alhaji Zakari thanked Barau for his support and commended his efforts to assist the market, emphasizing the importance of such interventions for the economic well-being of Kano traders.
