ADC governorship candidate Kalu Kalu challenges Abia Governor Alex Otti to identify a completed state government project in Ohafia ahead of the 2027 election
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Kalu Kalu, has challenged Governor Alex Otti to identify any project completed by his administration in Ohafia Local Government Area.

Kalu, who is from Ohafia, said he would withdraw from the 2027 governorship race if Otti’s administration could provide evidence of a single state government project completed in the local government.
He made the challenge during an interview on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Friday.
Kalu claimed that Ohafia Local Government Area had received more than N16 billion in allocations over the past three and a half years.
He alleged, however, that there was no visible project executed by the Abia State Government in the area during the period.
“I am from Ohafia LG of Abia State, and I’m placing it on record here that my local government has received over N16 billion for the past three and a half years,” he said.
The ADC candidate challenged the television station to visit Ohafia and ask Otti and members of his administration to identify any project executed by the state government in the area.
“Let Alex Otti and his handlers show your station any project that his government has done for the people of Ohafia Local Government. Not one,” he said.
Kalu went further to say he would abandon his ambition to become governor if one completed project by Otti’s administration could be identified in Ohafia.
“If your station will go to Ohafia Local Government and show one single project Alex Otti has done for the people of Ohafia Local Government, I will drop my gubernatorial ambition,” he said.
The challenge comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 Abia State governorship election.
Kalu is seeking to contest the governorship election on the platform of the ADC, while Otti is the incumbent governor of the state.

Kalu’s claims about allocations and the alleged absence of state government projects in Ohafia were made during the television interview and were not independently established in the material provided.
