Activist Deji Adeyanju criticizes Senate President Godswill Akpabio and NASS members for pushing manual transmission of election results
Activist Deji Adeyanju has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and members of the National Assembly of successfully pushing through what he describes as an “evil plan” permitting manual transmission of election results.

Adeyanju made the remarks while criticizing the move, arguing that it threatens recent electoral reforms and could reverse progress in transparency and public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system.
Speaking on X, Adeyanju stated, “So the protest is over despite the fact that Akpabio and his Hallelujah boys succeeded with their evil plans of manual transmission of results. Na wa ooo. If manual transmission is in the Electoral Act as an option then Akpabio & his Hallelujah boys in NASS have finished Nigeria. It’s all over. All the electoral reform gains reversed just like that.”
The activist’s comments came after the conclusion of the Occupy National Assembly protest, which sought to pressure lawmakers to retain electronic transmission of results (e-transmission) as the primary method for reporting election outcomes.
Adeyanju and other critics fear that permitting manual transmission could compromise the transparency, reliability, and credibility of elections, potentially undermining citizens’ trust in the democratic process.
