Marginalised Communities Play Key Role in President Tinubu’s 2027 Support

Marginalised communities support Tinubu, playing a key role in promoting inclusive governance ahead of the 2027 elections

Marginalised communities across Nigeria have been identified as pivotal actors in shaping the country’s political future, particularly in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.

Analyst Afakriya Gadzama highlighted that sustained support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is essential to consolidating inclusive governance, addressing social exclusion, and enhancing national development.

Gadzama noted that many of these communities have historically been politically marginalised, denied meaningful representation, and excluded from key development projects such as schools, hospitals, and roads.

He emphasised that the silent majority has long been oppressed by entrenched political elites who collude with state actors to perpetuate exclusion.

The commentator pointed out that President Tinubu’s administration has pursued a redemption agenda, recognising previously marginalised groups through strategic appointments and reforms.

“Under his leadership, many marginalised people have been freed from the imposition of unrepresentative political leadership,” Gadzama said.

He cited appointments in the security sector, including the leadership of the Department of State Services, as a demonstration of merit-based governance that benefits previously sidelined communities.

Observers also noted that improved professional competence within security and intelligence agencies has enhanced cooperation and confidence across the nation, directly impacting marginalised populations.

Gadzama argued that, if elections are conducted transparently and fairly, marginalised communities are likely to deliver strong electoral support for President Tinubu.

He maintained that backing the President’s re-election is crucial to sustaining inclusive governance, protecting the interests of historically oppressed groups, and deepening national development.

“Failing to rally support for President Tinubu’s re-election would risk neglecting the interests of communities long denied political voice and economic opportunity,” Gadzama concluded.
