On Thursday, Governor Uba Sani officially launched the reconstruction of the Jaba–Kwoi Road, calling it a “lifeline” and a promise fulfilled.
Addressing a hopeful crowd in Jaba, he described the road as a “highway of hope” connecting neglected communities to economic opportunity.
“I know the pain you have carried for many years because of this road. I have felt it myself,” Sani said, reflecting the emotional and logistical weight the poor infrastructure has placed on local residents.
The Jaba–Kwoi Road links critical Southern Kaduna communities to the Abuja highway and serves as a vital channel for agricultural and economic activity.
By prioritising this project, Governor Uba Sani signals a deep commitment to equity and inclusive development.
The reconstruction is part of a larger statewide infrastructure rollout. On August 7, the Kaduna State Government announced a new phase of road projects across all 23 Local Government Areas.
The plan covers more than 550 kilometres of roads and bridges, supported by N3.5 billion in compensation and relocation funds.
Dr. Abdullahi Ahmed, Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency, highlighted that over 80 roads have been constructed or rehabilitated in the past two years.
He described the Jaba–Kwoi project as a continuation of the governor’s vision of rural transformation and urban inclusivity.
Earlier the same day, Sani also inaugurated the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia.
Both projects, launched in Southern Kaduna, reinforce his administration’s regional focus.
“Two major projects in one day send a clear message—Southern Kaduna is central to our development agenda,” the governor declared.
The governor emphasised that these projects are more than physical infrastructure—they are tools for empowerment and unity.
“We are building a new Kaduna State—one of unity, not division; of progress, not neglect,” he stated passionately.
The Uba Sani Jaba–Kwoi Road reconstruction is expected to enhance mobility, stimulate local economies, and bridge long-standing regional divides.
