Tony Okechukwu Nwoye is a Nigerian politician who has demonstrated a rapid ascent through various political echelons.
Born on September 13, 1974, he began his political journey as a student activist, notably becoming the first medical student to serve as the Speaker of the Student Union House of Representatives at the University of Nigeria.
His leadership qualities were recognized early, leading to his appointment as Assistant Secretary and later Chairman of the Anambra State PDP Executive Committee at a remarkably young age.
Nwoye served as a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives for the Anambra East/West constituency.
He has twice contested for the Anambra State governorship, under both the PDP (2013) and APC (2017) platforms.
Currently, he is serving as the Senator for Anambra North Senatorial District, having been elected under the Labour Party in 2023.
