Godiya Akwashiki, born August 3, 1973, in Angba Iggah, Nasarawa State, is a prominent Nigerian politician.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. His political journey began in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, where he served from 2011 to 2019.

During his tenure, he rose to become the Majority Leader (2011-2015) and subsequently the Deputy Speaker (2015-2019).

In 2019, Akwashiki successfully contested for the Nasarawa North senatorial district seat and was re-elected in 2023.

In the 10th Senate, he serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Airforce, and was previously the Chairman of the Inter-parliamentary Affairs Committee and Vice Chairman of the Media and Public Affairs Committee.

Akwashiki’s political career showcases a steady ascent and commitment to legislative duties.
