In a statement released on Friday, Salisu highlighted the role of state party chairman Yemi Sanusi and former governor Olusegun Osoba in maintaining cohesion within the party.
He made the remarks during an expanded stakeholders’ strategic meeting held at the June 12 Cultural Centre.
“It remains obvious that the synergy and mutual respect among Governor Dapo Abiodun, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and Chief Olusegun Osoba have helped to nurture the cohesion and unity of our great party, the APC, in our dear state,” Salisu said.
The senator also lauded President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, stating they are yielding results and returning the nation to a path of stability and prosperity.
Salisu emphasised Ogun State’s influence on national politics, recalling phrases and campaign strategies generated in the state that contributed to Tinubu’s 2023 victory.
Capping the meeting, Salisu and other party leaders officially endorsed Tinubu for a second term from 2027 to 2031.
Governor Abiodun commended Tinubu’s removal of fuel and forex subsidies, citing falling inflation, a stabilising naira, $45bn in foreign reserves, and key infrastructure projects including the Lagos–Calabar coastal road and the Sokoto–Badagry highway as evidence of positive policy impact.
