The appointment comes ahead of the national rollout of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme, a flagship component of the Renewed Hope agenda.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed in a statement that Uzodimma will also serve as Director-General for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation, effectively becoming the chief political strategist for the Tinubu administration’s agenda nationwide.

“With the appointment, which takes immediate effect, Governor Uzodimma will be responsible, in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress leadership and the governors, for evangelising the Tinubu administration’s programme,” the statement read.

As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, is expected to ensure “harmony, inclusiveness and strategic coordination across all levels of the party.”

APC governors will also serve as Ambassadors of Hope, working with Uzodimma to strengthen grassroots support for the administration.

The Ward Development Programme aims to channel micro-projects, social services, and livelihood support directly to Nigeria’s 8,809 electoral wards. Onanuga said the President expects Uzodimma to highlight and disseminate the administration’s achievements and milestones since 2023, reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope nationwide.

The Presidency cited progress in key economic indicators, including easing inflation, stabilising exchange rates, growing foreign reserves, increasing investor confidence, and diversifying the economy.
