The endorsement followed last weekend’s adoption of Tinubu by Southeast governors, APC leaders, and regional stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking in Udi during the flag-off of the APC e-registration exercise in Enugu West Senatorial District, Chime said he was part of the endorsement “ab initio” and expressed confidence in a strong showing for Tinubu and the APC in the Southeast.
“I am part of the Southeast, so you can take it for granted that I was part of that endorsement. That is our decision and we all stand by it. It is easily achievable,” Chime stated.
The former Governor praised Tinubu’s handling of national and continental economic challenges, insisting the President had performed well despite global pressures.
On the influence of former presidential candidate Peter Obi, Chime said he would discuss the 2027 elections in greater detail in the coming months.
Chime also highlighted the growing enthusiasm for the APC in Enugu State, noting that his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party after 2015 had been vindicated.
He disclosed that the APC leadership in Enugu aims to surpass the two-million membership target set by Governor and party leader Peter Mbah during the ongoing electronic registration exercise.
“We are here first of all to thank our people. You can see how excited people are to join the APC. APC is now the only party available in Enugu State,” Chime said.
Hon. Flavour Eze, the Enugu State Coordinator of the APC e-registration programme, commended stakeholders for their mobilisation efforts and proactive measures in assisting party supporters with obtaining National Identification Numbers and voter cards.

He urged members to begin registration immediately at the ward level, emphasising that participation in the exercise is mandatory for recognition and access to party opportunities.
