The group cited Yayi’s record of urban and rural development across all senatorial districts of the state, despite representing only Ogun West in the National Assembly.
Speaking at a mobilisation meeting in Ifo Local Government Area, Convener Matthew Taiwo, also known as MATAYAYI, praised Yayi’s commitment to the development of Ogun State. He added that the group could mobilise 30,000 votes should Yayi emerge as the APC flag bearer.
In a communiqué, Taiwo highlighted Yayi’s achievements in infrastructure renewal, educational empowerment, and inclusive political engagement, describing him as the best choice to lead the state.
“Since his foray into Ogun politics, Yayi has shown competence, capacity and commitment to inclusive governance. His impact is visible in Ogun East, Ogun Central and Ogun West,” he said.
The group also urged Tinubu and the APC leadership to support Yayi’s candidacy, warning that saboteurs could attempt to destabilise the political environment ahead of 2027.
Taiwo commended the President’s economic reforms, describing them as a foundation for renewed national prosperity, and called on Tinubu to consider a second-term bid.
