SDP Forum hails Prof. Sodiq Gombe as national chairman, pledging unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections
The Forum of State Chairmen of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expressed full confidence in Prof. Sodiq Abubakar Gombe, newly confirmed as the party’s national chairman, to position SDP as a credible political alternative in the 2027 general elections.

The forum, through its secretary Idris Adamu, lauded Gombe’s confirmation by the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) as a signal of renewed unity and strategic expansion across Nigeria.
“Nigerians now have a credible alternative in the Social Democratic Party,” the forum’s statement read.
“It stands as the only party in Nigeria that is stable, united, and committed to a reliable manifesto capable of fostering the anticipated progress and transformation of the nation.”
Forum Chairman Hon. Femi Olaniyi Ferrari highlighted the resilience of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and thanked the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Barr. Adewole Adebayo, for his moral and financial support, describing his contributions as “invaluable.”
The forum urged all SDP members nationwide to intensify grassroots sensitisation initiatives, emphasising that the party’s stability sets it apart from political entities currently facing internal strife.
In addition, the forum inaugurated a new executive team to coordinate state chapters.
Hon. Femi Olaniyi Ferrari was appointed Chairman of Chairmen, with Abba Modu as Northern Deputy Chairman, Hon. Okunlade Michael as Southern Deputy Chairman, Adamu Idris Adamu as Secretary, and Mr. Allen Amadien as Publicity Secretary.

The SDP leadership said the new team would oversee cohesive party operations and galvanise support ahead of the 2027 polls, aiming to consolidate the party’s influence and presence across the country.
