This high profile move will undoubtedly draw considerable attention.

News of the former Vice President’s exit became public on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday, shared by Imran Muhammad, an APC stalwart in Kaduna State.

BusinessDay independently gathered that Sambo’s decision to leave the PDP may relate directly to the ongoing internal crisis within the party, a factor often influencing such political realignments.

Sambo, who served as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, was formally received into the APC on Wednesday.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, personally welcomed him at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna.

This ceremony solidified his switch to the governing party.
