PRP Denies Kwankwaso Bought 69 Nomination Forms Claim

PRP denies Kwankwaso 69 nomination forms claim, rejecting allegations that the former Kano governor is taking over the party ahead of 2027 elections

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed claims that former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso purchased 69 nomination forms in an alleged move to take control of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The allegation was previously made by Abdulkadir Musa Giza, who identified himself as chairman of the North-West Stakeholders Forum of the PRP, and who claimed that Kwankwaso had effectively taken over the party’s structure.

However, PRP National Secretary Alhaji Musa Maigari has rejected the claims, describing them as false and misleading.

Alhaji Musa Maigari stated that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has no record of purchasing nomination forms from the party and is not connected to the party’s internal processes.

“As it stands, all positions in PRP have been filled. Primary elections are over, and every political party has concluded its primaries,” Maigari said.

He also questioned the credibility of the source of the allegation, stating that the individual behind the claim is not recognised as a member of the party.

“The man who raised these allegations is not even our member. It is laughable at this time, when primaries are over, someone is talking about primaries or nomination forms,” he added.

Maigari further clarified that the so-called North-West Stakeholders Forum mentioned in the allegation is not an official or recognised structure within the PRP.

According to him, there is no evidence that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso or any representative acted on such claims, urging the public to disregard the report.

He advised that only official communications from the party should be considered credible, especially as political activities continue ahead of the 2027 elections.
