PDP chieftain Pelumi Olajengbesi dismisses Wole Oke’s criticism of Osun Governor Adeleke, insisting voters, not entitlement, will decide elections.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has rejected recent criticisms of Governor Ademola Adeleke by Wole Oke, the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.

Olajengbesi, an Abuja-based lawyer and convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network, is vying for the PDP ticket for the constituency in the 2027 general elections. He dismissed Oke’s claims that Adeleke had neglected his constituency as “laughable.”
Oke, who represented Obokun/Oriade since 2003 and recently defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), had criticised the Adeleke administration in a social media post, alleging neglect of his constituency.
But Olajengbesi countered, saying Oke lacked the moral authority to attack the governor. He praised Adeleke’s integrity and results-oriented governance, highlighting that the governor has delivered substantial infrastructure, welfare programs, and people-centred initiatives within just three years despite financial constraints.
“He has no moral authority to attack a governor who is working for the people with both state resources and personal family funds,” Olajengbesi said.
“While Oke has spent over 20 years defending his personal interests, Governor Adeleke has delivered great governance and innovative programs for the people.”
Olajengbesi also commended Adeleke for refusing to collect security votes, choosing instead to transparently channel such funds into public service—an approach he described as unique among Nigerian governors.
