PDP Makinde closed-door meeting sparks speculation as BoT and interim NWC meet Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan
Members of the Board of Trustees of the factional Peoples Democratic Party, led by Senator Adolphus Wabara, alongside officials of the party’s interim National Working Committee headed by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, on Monday held a closed-door meeting with Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.

The closed door meeting took place behind sealed doors, with journalists denied access to the discussions, which lasted for several hours.
Although official details of the meeting were not disclosed at the time of filing this report, party insiders suggested that the discussions may be linked to recent political developments involving the Oyo governor.
According to sources within the party, the meeting is believed to be connected to speculation surrounding Governor Makinde’s alleged presidential ambition under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, as well as emerging security concerns following reported bandit attacks in parts of Ibadan.
One insider described the meeting as “strategic and sensitive”, noting that it comes at a critical period of internal realignments within the factional PDP structure.
It has further intensified political speculation across Oyo State and within the broader party hierarchy, particularly given the presence of senior BoT and interim NWC officials.
As of the time of filing this report, deliberations were still ongoing, with no official statement released by either Governor Makinde’s office or the visiting party delegation.
