Omo-Agege made the statement during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show, where he confirmed Obi as his preferred presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 race.
Obi 2027 endorsement from Omo-Agege comes amid growing political debate over shifting alliances and early positioning ahead of the next election cycle.
During the interview, Omo-Agege also addressed tensions within Delta State politics, alleging that supporters of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori were spreading false narratives about him due to concerns over his influence in the state’s political landscape.
He insisted that he remains a loyal party figure, while maintaining that his political base has remained intact despite speculation about his future ambitions.
Omo-Agege compared his current stance with his previous role in the All Progressives Congress, APC, stating that he had strongly supported President Bola Tinubu during his time in the party and would continue to back candidates he believes in.
“Peter Obi is my presidential candidate for 2027, I have endorsed him,” he said, adding that his loyalty to any political platform he belongs to remains firm.
He further claimed that his opponents were attempting to undermine his credibility, insisting that his political influence in Delta State remains strong ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The comments have added fresh intensity to early discussions around Nigeria’s 2027 electoral landscape, where shifting allegiances are already beginning to shape political narratives.
