Omo-Agege insists he won Delta Central senatorial primary, dismissing claims of defeat and awaiting official party confirmation
Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has dismissed reports suggesting he lost the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial primary for Delta Central, insisting that he emerged victorious in the exercise.

He made the assertion during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, where he strongly rejected claims that he was defeated in the party’s primary election.
According to him, the outcome of the exercise is not in dispute, adding that he secured victory across all local government areas in the senatorial district.
He said: “If you believe that I lost a primary in NDC, then I have a plot of land to sell to you in the middle of the Atlantic.”
Omo-Agege further stated that he won the primary election in all eight local government areas, expressing confidence that the party would eventually confirm the result officially.
“I won the primaries of the NDC total, as in all eight local government areas. I don’t think there’s any disputing that now. You can take it to the bank that I have won that primary, 100 per cent,” he said.
He explained that although he and his supporters were in possession of results, they had not made them public in line with directives from party leadership, which instructed candidates to await official announcements.
Omo-Agege added that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) was expected to meet to ratify the outcomes of the primaries.
He maintained that there was no contention over the result and expressed confidence that his nomination would be formally confirmed.

“I am the candidate, but I would rather wait for the party to formally make that announcement,” he added.
