The National Grid Post Political Debate began on Monday after the account published a brief message reading, “Word for the week: GO GET YOUR PVC,” a reference to Nigeria’s Permanent Voter Card ahead of future elections.

Many users interpreted the message as a call for increased civic participation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with some praising the encouragement of voter engagement.
However, the post also attracted sharp criticism, with some commenters linking it to broader frustrations over governance and Nigeria’s ongoing power supply challenges.
