Lagos APC UK holds end-of-year dinner, reaffirms support for Tinubu

Lagos APC UK hosts end-of-year dinner in London, celebrating party unity and supporting President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu’s achievements

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress in the United Kingdom (APC UK) held its annual End-of-Year Dinner over the weekend in Bromley, London, gathering party leaders, executives, and members in a show of unity, reflection, and renewed political commitment.

The event, marked by music and lively discussions, brought together party chieftains from diverse backgrounds, all expressing strong support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Addressing attendees, APC UK Chairman Hon. Tayo Shodeinde commended members for their loyalty and active participation in promoting the party among the diaspora.

He reiterated pride in the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Tinubu and the developmental strides recorded under Governor Sanwo-Olu, describing progress in Lagos as “second to none.”

Hon. Tunde Doherty, APC UK Chairman and Chairman of the Diaspora Forum, delivered a paper titled “The Impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Diaspora,” highlighting how government policies are reshaping diaspora engagement, investment opportunities, and Nigeria’s global image.

In the first keynote address, Hon. Felix Ajayi discussed “The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: What It Means and the Progress in Lagos State,” emphasising Lagos as a model of continuity and performance.

He applauded Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration for sustaining growth in critical sectors such as transportation, housing, health, and education.

Dr. Philip Edewor addressed general political matters, stressing the importance of discipline, unity, and strategic thinking for diaspora chapters to maintain long-term relevance.

A key highlight of the evening was the swearing-in of two new executive members into the Lagos State APC UK leadership.

Hon. Alhaja Gbemisola Ademola was officially sworn in as Women Leader, while Hon. Alhaja Aolat Tomi Sule took office as Vice Chairwoman, Central, in a ceremony led by Hon. Ladi Vera Cruz.

Members described the appointments as enhancing inclusiveness and strengthening the chapter.

The dinner was attended by prominent party leaders and executives, including Dr. and Mrs. David Orimaye, Elder David Olukoga, Hon. Muyiwa Adesua, Pastor Magret Apoeso, Eric Ayoola, and Chief Yemi Odetola.

Other executives present included Hon. Tayo Shodeinde, Hon. Prince Balogun Eshinokun, Hon. Bola Oshin, David Orogbangba, Hon. Prince Abidemi Akintunde, Dr. Mrs. Motolani Doherty, Funmi Adenusi, Hon. Dr. Aisha Gbajabiamila, Hon. Afolabi Adebayo, Hon. Makoyawo, Hon. Kashif Laguda, and Hon. Bukola Apena.

The gathering reflected a renewed commitment to party unity and the promotion of governance reforms and national development initiatives from the diaspora.
