Lagos APC Tinubu 2027 claim dismissed as baseless, as party insists President remains strong ahead of next election
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has dismissed claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could lose the 2027 presidential election, describing the assertion as baseless and speculative.

The party was reacting to comments by Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, who suggested that Tinubu might face defeat if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar contests alongside Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Seye Oladejo, the party described the prediction as a wild and unfounded political postulation.
Seye Oladejo said there was no credible evidence to support such claims, insisting that political realities point towards a strong showing for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next election cycle.
He argued that many of the individuals being projected as challengers are grappling with internal crises within their political camps, weakening the opposition’s prospects.
Seye Oladejo added that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on implementing reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening national security and driving sustainable growth.
He noted that the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda is addressing long-standing structural challenges and setting Nigeria on a path of recovery and progress.
The Lagos APC spokesman criticised opposition figures for engaging in what he described as premature political permutations, urging them instead to contribute constructively to national development.
He maintained that Nigerian voters are capable of recognising effective leadership and would continue to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his administration consolidates ongoing reforms.
