Kwankwaso Hints at ADC–NDC Alliance Ahead of 2027 Elections

Kwankwaso Indicates Possible ADC–NDC Working Agreement as former NNPP candidate says both parties may work together ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has suggested that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) may form a working alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.

The Kwankwaso ADC NDC alliance remark was made on Monday during a live appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time, where the former Kano State governor discussed emerging political alignments and shifting electoral dynamics.

Kwankwaso noted that both political platforms could collaborate before the next general election cycle, pointing to ongoing realignments within Nigeria’s opposition space.

He made the comments while reflecting on recent political developments, including his exit from the ADC and his association with former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

According to him, current political conversations are increasingly centred on broader national interests rather than traditional divisions such as religion and ethnicity.

The Kwankwaso ADC NDC alliance suggestion adds to growing speculation about possible coalition-building efforts among opposition figures ahead of 2027.

He further observed that younger Nigerians appear more focused on leadership quality and governance outcomes, rather than identity-based politics, which he described as a positive shift.
