The former Commissioner for Information and Trade completed the formal process at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja following a rigorous evaluation by the Governorship Screening Committee.

Former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi chaired the screening panel that cleared the aspirant for the upcoming primary elections.

He expressed confidence in the committee’s transparency, noting that the successful completion of the review validates his standing as a loyal party member and a credible contender for the office.

The aspirant emphasized that his decision to enter the race is rooted in a vision to provide visible and tangible prosperity for the citizens of Abia.

John Okiyi-Kalu stated that his administration would prioritize industrialization, enhanced healthcare, and a robust welfare package for civil servants to revitalize the local economy.

During the media briefing, the chieftain underscored his long-standing commitment to the political platform, noting that he has remained a steadfast member of the PDP since 1999.
