INEC Voter Registration Phase II: over 1.2 million Nigerians registered, with women and youth leading participation as elections approach
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced that 1,228,648 Nigerians have completed voter registration under Phase II of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as of 13 February 2026.

According to an update shared on INEC’s official X handle, 673,124 applicants completed registration through online pre-registration, while 555,524 finalised their registration at physical centres nationwide.
Women accounted for the majority of new registrants, with 696,891 or 57 per cent of the total, compared with 531,757 male registrants.
The commission also noted significant youth participation, reporting that 848,066 registrants, approximately 69.02 per cent, fall within the 18 to 34 age bracket.
Additionally, 19,414 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) successfully registered across the country during the ongoing exercise.

INEC continues to urge eligible Nigerians to take advantage of both online pre-registration and physical registration centres before the exercise concludes, as part of preparations for upcoming elections.
