Imo PDP readiness affirmed as the State Working Committee pledges full compliance, preparation, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections
The State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State has affirmed its readiness to participate in the forthcoming 2027 general elections in line with the revised timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The announcement was made in a press statement on Sunday by the party’s spokesperson, Lancelot Obiaku.
According to the statement, the party’s confidence stems from the National Caretaker Working Committee’s efforts to resolve all internal disputes and pending litigations ahead of the window for political primaries.
The SWC emphasised its commitment to complying fully with constitutional and regulatory requirements within stipulated timelines.
Preparations for the all-inclusive National Convention in Abuja, scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2026, have intensified, the statement noted, with the Imo contingent expressing excitement and readiness to participate in the exercise, which is expected to bolster the stability and unity of the PDP nationwide.
The SWC, led by Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, urged aspirants to remain calm and focused while continuing their preparations.

The committee assured the people of Imo State that the PDP stands ready not only to offer credible opposition but also to provide effective leadership and reliable alternatives across all levels, promoting accountability, peace, and sustainable development.
