Governor Adeleke Praises Osun Electorate for their unwavering support, calling them his greatest strength and promising continued commitment to public service.

The Osun State governor made the remark on Sunday during the 11th undergraduate and 7th postgraduate convocation of Adeleke University in Ede, where he received an honorary doctorate.
Speaking before a crowd of students, staff, and dignitaries, Adeleke expressed deep gratitude for the love shown by the people of the state.
“Osun people have been our strength, and they continue to be our strength,” he said. “As in every true democracy, the people are the ultimate determinant of power.”
He described the ballot as the cornerstone of leadership and reaffirmed that his administration remains people-driven in policy and action.
“The power of voters to enthrone leaders through the ballot has been our greatest asset,” he said.
“We belong to the people and we acknowledge the deep love from the street and every corner of Osun State.”
Reflecting on his performance in office, Adeleke noted that his leadership had surprised many with innovative policies that improved critical sectors.
“We innovate, we sacrifice, and we think out of the box to positively transform several sectors of our society,” the governor added.
He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising the welfare of the people above all else.
“Our waking and sleeping agenda has been and will always be people’s welfare and aspirations.”
At the same ceremony, Pro-Chancellor Dr Deji Adeleke decried the impact of electoral fraud in Nigeria, noting its negative effect on governance and economic growth.
He warned that the manipulation of votes discourages qualified leaders and undermines the country’s future.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Solomon Adebola revealed that 1,133 students graduated across six faculties and the postgraduate college.
Two students achieved perfect 5.00 GPAs: Jeg Tigwog from Languages and Literary Studies, and Awotayo Taiwo Samuel from Political Science.
The top postgraduate student was Oyewolo Musefiu Omotosho in Civil Engineering with an average of 82.75.
The best PhD graduate was Jeffrey-Ebhomenmen Blessing Okojie in Religious Studies, scoring 78.49.
