Fintiri imposes Adamawa curfew after fresh communal violence erupts in Lamurde, directing security agencies to restore order
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State on Monday in Yola imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area after a renewed bout of communal violence left parts of the community tense and unsafe.

Fintiri imposes Adamawa curfew as he ordered security agencies to deploy immediately and restore stability.
The directive, issued through a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hussaini Hammangabdo, followed reports of clashes that erupted on Sunday evening.
The government said the decisive measure was necessary to prevent further escalation and safeguard lives and property.
According to the statement, the governor instructed security operatives to move into all affected locations with urgency and enforce peace and order.
The communication stressed that the administration would not tolerate acts capable of threatening public safety or disrupting communal harmony.
Residents of Lamurde were urged to remain calm and cooperate fully with security personnel as operations continue.
The government expressed confidence that the swift intervention would help contain the unrest and avert wider disruption across the area.

Authorities say surveillance has been strengthened and additional personnel deployed to ensure the return of normalcy, describing the situation as serious but under active control.
