Atiku ADC primary unity message stresses teamwork after winning ADC ticket, urging focus on defeating APC and preparing for 2027 elections
The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, has called for unity within the party following his emergence as the ADC flagbearer for the 2027 presidential election, stating that it is “not yet time to celebrate.”

Atiku ADC primary unity message was shared via a post on his official 𝕏 account on Thursday, where he urged party members to put aside competition and focus on rebuilding Nigeria in the aftermath of what he described as widespread national challenges.
He said the conclusion of the primaries should mark the beginning of serious work, stressing that all contestants within the African Democratic Congress must now come together to achieve a common goal.
Atiku praised the party’s primary election committee for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent process across the country, adding that the exercise reflected internal discipline and organisational strength.
He also expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, volunteers and supporters for their commitment during the process, describing their efforts as critical to the success of the primaries.
In his remarks, Atiku criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress, All Progressives Congress, accusing it of poor governance and calling for a collective effort to “rescue” the country from economic and political difficulties.

The former Vice President emphasised that the real electoral battle lies ahead, noting that the party must now prepare for a vigorous campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
