APC Firmly Denies Rumours of Shettima Replacement for 2027

APC denies Shettima replacement rumours, calling claims baseless and urging focus on Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday denied reports suggesting a plan to replace Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 general election.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed the claims in a statement issued in Abuja.

Felix Morka described the reports as speculative, untrue and utterly baseless.

The statement said recent media reports escalated speculation by naming possible replacements for Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The APC said no such discussions exist within the party. It stressed that the rumours lack any factual basis.

The party urged media organisations to avoid promoting rumours from what it described as mischievous and unreliable sources.

The APC noted that laws and electoral regulations banning political campaigns remain in force.

It said the party remains focused on supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement said ongoing reforms are transforming the economy, building prosperity and improving living conditions.

The party also cautioned ministers and senior officials against fuelling unnecessary speculation.

It urged them to focus on effective governance and strengthening the administration’s achievements.
