The outcome of the APC Abia Central Senate ticket result saw Atuma emerge winner with a total of 36,935 votes, defeating former Senator Nkechi Nwogu and former federal lawmaker Sam Onuigbo in a closely watched party contest.

Nkechi Nwogu, a former House of Representatives member and past senator for Abia Central, polled 11,451 votes, while Sam Onuigbo, a two-term House of Representatives member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia, secured 5,833 votes.

The result was officially announced in Umuahia by Collation Officer Thomas Nkoro following vote collation from Umuahia North, Umuahia South, Ikwuano, Osisioma, Isiala Ngwa North, and Isiala Ngwa South local government areas.

The APC Senate ticket contest was described by party stakeholders as a decisive exercise that reflected strong delegate alignment across the district, with Atuma maintaining a commanding lead throughout the collation process.

Meanwhile, the Abia State chapter of the APC has announced that its National Assembly Primaries Appeal Committee has begun sitting to review complaints arising from the exercise.

The committee, chaired by Chris Dajan, with members Martha Moses, Obioma Madukwe, and Uzoma Ogu, urged aggrieved aspirants to formally submit petitions for review in line with party procedures.
