The Aisha Yesufu INEC ADC controversy was raised during a live interview on *Arise Television’s Prime Time* programme on Monday.

Yesufu, co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls Movement, also claimed there were reports suggesting that the INEC Chairman was allegedly pressured in the process.

She further alleged that INEC officials received bribes of up to $50,000, alongside claims of inducements involving land allocations.

“Yesufu said there are reports that INEC officials were allegedly bribed with monies up to $50,000,” she stated during the interview.

The activist questioned the role of anti-corruption agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, in addressing such allegations.

She also criticised the judiciary, claiming it risks becoming vulnerable to political manipulation and influence.

Meanwhile, the electoral body recently faced controversy following reports involving leadership changes within the African Democratic Congress, including the status of former Senate President David Mark.

Yesufu insisted that strong institutions must remain independent to protect democratic governance and public trust.

She warned that sustained allegations of intimidation and corruption could weaken Nigeria’s democratic system.

“This democracy, many people died for it,” she said, urging accountability and transparency in public institutions.
