The Adamawa State governor and Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee spoke with notable enthusiasm after a late night stakeholders meeting in Abuja.
The gathering held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro brought together influential party figures including Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde, PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba and former Minister of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs Tanimu Turaki. Their presence signalled a united front at a moment when the party seeks stability.
Fintiri told journalists that the meeting reached several important resolutions. He described the discussions as critical and productive, adding that the party is fully committed to advancing preparations. He stressed that the Ibadan convention is sacrosanct, a powerful expression of confidence in the chosen venue.
Attempts to obtain further clarification on internal party matters proved unsuccessful as security aides swiftly moved him along.
Even so, the announcement has already stirred fresh energy among party supporters who view the convention as a vital step toward reorganisation ahead of future political contests.
