Nigerian Army rescue operation frees 11 kidnapped victims and recovers weapons across North-West and North-Central Nigeria
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 11 kidnapped victims and recovered arms during coordinated operations across the North-West and North-Central regions, a credible source at Army Headquarters confirmed on Wednesday.

The operations were conducted under Operations Fansan Yamma, MESA, Enduring Peace (OPEP), and Whirl Stroke (OPWS), the source said.
Under Operation Fansan Yamma, two truck drivers abducted along the Magami–Gusau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara were freed after the kidnappers abandoned them during a hot pursuit by troops.
In Sokoto State, soldiers recovered an AK-47 rifle abandoned on a farmland at Garin Hilo village, Sabon Birni LGA, following actionable intelligence from local residents.
Under Operation MESA, troops, in collaboration with vigilante groups, rescued nine kidnapped victims in Kogi and Kwara States.
Three farmers abducted at Ojiwo Egume community in Dekina LGA, Kogi, were freed alongside a motorcycle.
Meanwhile, six villagers kidnapped at Ikosin village, Ifelodun LGA, Kwara, were rescued after the kidnappers fled and abandoned two motorcycles.
Efforts are ongoing to rescue four other victims abducted at Owa Onire in Ifelodun LGA during a road project, the source added.

The Nigerian Army has also suspended operations in Taraba to restore peace and order in troubled areas, while continuing coordinated missions in other parts of the country.
