PDP will present Certificate of Return to Dr Oluwole Oluyede on December 10 in Abuja ahead of the 2026 Ekiti governorship election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that it will formally present the Certificate of Return to its Ekiti State governorship candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

The event is scheduled to hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2 pm, according to a statement issued on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Enemobong.
“Following the successful conduct of the Ekiti State Gubernatorial Primary Election and the Appeal Panel ratification, the National Working Committee hereby schedules the Presentation of Certificate of Return to our Candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, for the June 20, 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State,” the statement read.
The PDP invited leaders, members of the National Executive Committee, serving and former governors, members of the Board of Trustees, lawmakers, and other stakeholders to attend the ceremony.
The party said the event underscores its commitment to uniting its structures ahead of the 2026 election.
Oluyede, a medical expert, emerged victorious in the PDP primary election held from the evening of November 8 into the early hours of November 9.
He polled 279 votes to defeat Funso Ayeni, who scored 239 votes, and Funmilayo Ogun, who had 17 votes.

The presentation of the Certificate of Return formally recognises Oluyede as the party’s candidate and marks a significant milestone as he prepares for the upcoming governorship contest in Ekiti State.
