He insisted that Nigeria’s own security agencies remain fully competent and committed to tackling the security challenges confronting Kebbi.

Speaking on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, the governor stated unequivocally that his government had never sought or considered external military assistance.

“This is not true. I will never engage anyone from outside. Our security agencies are doing their best, and I’m fully satisfied with their performance,” Idris declared, adding that such reports were misleading and designed to distract from the progress being made on the ground.

The Kebbi State Governor commended the Armed Forces and other security operatives for their relentless efforts in restoring peace and protecting lives and property across the state.

He reaffirmed his administration’s support for ongoing operations, pledging continued provision of logistics and operational vehicles to boost morale and enhance effectiveness.

Idris expressed confidence that sustained cooperation between state authorities and national security agencies would lead to lasting peace, particularly in communities previously affected by banditry.

In his remarks, General Musa lauded the governor’s remarkable achievements in infrastructure, education, agriculture, health, and security, describing the transformation of Birnin Kebbi as “nothing short of impressive.”
