Nigerian Air Force Kills 15 Terrorists in Sambisa Airstrike

In a statement, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), confirmed that the mission was executed on September 3, 2025, by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeting a terrorist enclave west of Zuwa in the notorious Sambisa Forest.

“Acting on credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance, the mission targeted hideouts harbouring fighters and commanders responsible for recent hostilities around Bitta,” Ejodame said.

The operation reportedly destroyed key structures used by insurgents and degraded their operational capabilities.

The Nigerian Air Force Sambisa Airstrike marks yet another strategic blow against terror networks in the North-East.

The statement emphasized the role of aerial intelligence and surveillance in identifying the location before the airstrike was launched.

“The strikes proved devastating, neutralising over 15 terrorists and demolishing key structures critical to their operations,” Ejodame added.

He described the success as a demonstration of the NAF’s resolve, precision, and professionalism, stating that each successful strike brings Nigeria closer to achieving lasting peace.

Sambisa Forest has long served as a base for Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters since the insurgency began in 2009.

It remains one of the most targeted zones in the military’s counterterrorism operations due to its dense terrain and symbolic significance.

Over the years, Nigerian military forces have launched multiple air and ground assaults in the area in an attempt to dislodge terrorist elements and restore order to surrounding communities.

The latest mission comes amid continued efforts to stabilize the North-East region, where millions have been displaced due to insurgency and banditry.
