Tinubu Mourns Former Customs CG Ahmed Mustapha

President Tinubu mourns ex-Customs boss Ahmed Mustapha, praising his service to Nigeria and Adamawa. He died in Abuja at 76

Abuja, August 28, 2025 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha, former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, who passed away on Thursday in Abuja at the age of 76.

In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu described the late Mustapha—who also held the traditional title of Sardauna Adamawa—as a dedicated public servant and patriotic leader.

“The President acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to the growth and development of the Nigeria Customs Service and his immense services to his Adamawa home state,” the statement read.

President Tinubu extended his condolences to the Adamawa Emirate Council, as well as the government and people of Adamawa State, mourning the passing of one of the region’s most prominent sons.
